Doing His Time Prison Ministries
No matter how tough an inmate is inside, the thought of “being on the street” as an ex-offender is scary.
After release, ex‑offenders are anxious and unsure about the basics of life. Essentials including new clothes, hygiene items, I.D. cards and a job feel like mountains to be climbed. For an ex‑offender, predators selling drugs and offering an easy return to the old lifestyles are everywhere.
72 Hour Fund™ offers vital, solid, hands-on assistance for former inmates as they take positive steps towards successful reintegration. Both casual and dressy, winter or summer clothes, bus tokens or hygiene items are all small “cups of cold water” (see Matthew 10:42) that restore. These basic essentials are available on a needs-driven basis for all who make an appointment, or simply drop in.

In the recent newsletter from Chris, he features 3 ladies who were released back into the community at the same time, traveling together and learning how to get around the Denver area on the RTD bus system. The 72 Hour Fund was able to bless them with appropriate wardrobe, local employment information, RTD Bus Ticket booklets as well as hygiene, backpacks, State I>D> vouchers and lots of encouragement. To date they know that each of these ladies are employed, preparig to return home or find an apartment, working hard to rebuild what was once broken dreams and lives. God is at work and we at DHT are joingin Him to help them according to heir individual need.
